it probably doesn't come as a surprise to hear that the financial update yesterday was hard for me to write. the first step of acknowledging publicly that there's a problem is admitting it to yourself, and with as much of my life over the last nearly-four years has been poured into this, admitting that to myself was real fuckin hard.
i really appreciate the response we got. it's clear that y'all care about what we've made and want it to keep going. we've gotten a strong cohost plus subscriber bump since posting; lots of new subscriptions and lots of upgraded subscriptions. every little bit helps get us closer to sustainability.
for now, back to the grind. part of why i wanted to get the financial update out yesterday was that it had been hanging over my head and distracting me from product work. i'm hoping to have asks mostly done today, although i'm out of office next week so it wouldn't launch for at least another week anyway (was hoping to get it out before i left town but sometimes life happens).
