  • when the UI sound effects feel like they're directly scratching the top of my head like i'm a small animal (Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is a perfect example of this)

  • on the opposite, when a game makes an effort that makes relying on a HUD entirely optional (the Dishonored series is designed to make it playable with the HUD entirely disabled iirc)

  • when the music is fully integrated in the sound design and reacts to my actions
