Feeling the pull to resume my Japanese studies... I still have another hundred or so jōyō kanji to learn - I stopped as it was clear everything I was learning was waaaayyy too infrequent or obscure and just focusing on immersion and comprehension made a lot more sense. And it did - I feel so much more confident in the aspects of the language that actually make sense now - that is, being able to comprehend natural every day language that I'm reading or hearing, and being able to communicate with others - but regardless, I've got a whole lot more grammar and vocab to learn!
I'm even considering levelling down my WaniKani back to the start (from level 56...), or at least close to the start... a lot of it I could blast through, but a lot I'm sure has completely slipped out of my memory due to not coming across it it out in the real world. But man, it's so intense and just, you really gotta do it every day. But I managed before, and I can manage again.
