based on a rough estimate of the caloric value of a horse you can probably generate 1 watt for about 13 years with 1/7th of a horse
Of course, one horsepower is just the estimated amount of work that a horse can sustain longterm.
If it were to kick you full force straight in the retina it might be doing that with up to 14.9 horsepower of power.
