My raid group is on pause until the next patch drops on August 23, and then it's off to the races as we're using the new Extreme to trial some replacements before the new Savage raid tier drops a week later. This is probably the longest break I've had from high-end content since February, and once September is here it's possible that we'll be back on the grind until the end of the year, working on both weekly gear collection and resuming our usual progression on DSU.
Breaks are important, but there are some very motivated people in the group that want to continue practicing and have been inviting others to join them in Party Finder. Party Finder actually works pretty well for Ultimate-level content - each data center has a Discord for establishing and proliferating safe tactics that allows a party of 8 strangers to meet and wordlessly practice razor-sharp content.
Some parts of our strategy differ from the PF strategies and I didn't want to spend time learning the changes for people who make zero guarantee of being good players or staying for a long time, and those parties can take forever to fill, so... (deep breath) nnnnno. no thank you. Beach episode.¹
All of the white pieces (body, arms, legs, feet) are rewards in this year's Moonfire Faire questline, dyed snow white. I usually do pure white for armor sets when I'm committed to a look, but that's a bit more than I'm willing to go for a seasonal attire. This year's headpiece was a headband that barely appeared under the short hair, and I already knew I was going to swap it out.
The sunglasses (head) are from the Endless Summer Attire, dyed metallic red. The set was available in a previous summer event but now only worth getting on sale in the cash shop. When I settled on an aesthetic for Luna, I decided to break the pattern in every white set by dying the head piece metallic red, which I chose because of her eye. It's also a cheap color, so it's easy to make a statement even when the white doesn't pop.
I have not done the jumping puzzle and no guarantees on a follow-up post. It would make a nice spot to gpose in and it's a limited-time thing, so I'll do my best with it. Just not today.
- The Party Finder post will come... maybe? IDK, talking about people is weird. The best people in Party Finder are the ones in "Other Recruitment" who just want to add something nice. There's a player on Primal who posts a different shark fact on most nights. That's nice, man. I don't think there's enough of those to talk about.
