I wasn't enjoying this too much at first, mainly because the design is a little rough compared to the usual idle games I pick up 😬 You click to produce kiwis into storage, and then bundles of kiwis are made from that storage and sent through a security checkpoint to sell at a castle, where you make money for upgrades.

So, okay, but there's no extra means of production besides a) clicking on the kiwi bird or b) purchasing the auto-clicker. To be fair, the auto-clicker is powerful, but this is your entire production chain for a bit, and it's a pretty dry experience. I also learned that if you accidentally over-commit to bundle upgrades, everything stalls out.

To combat this, the game has an early prestige mode where you reset and unlock a "profession" system, and I think past the introduction it's become a lot more enjoyable. The profession system offers different 3 style offerings: active players get improved clicking and auto-clicking abilities, midrange players who like to check in every 20-30 minutes get a potion brewing station that buffs different facilities for a short time, and long players who don't mind idling for hours receive extra facilities to construct.

Profession offerings in Kiwi Clicker: Juiced Up. "Archery" "Alchemy" and "Carpentry"

Spending the first half-hour getting familiar with the machine and then immediately resetting and getting the choices to break it is pretty good. I've only done the alchemist run so far but it's delivered a nice experience. Prestige points are also tied to occasional boss spawns, so it makes an easy marker to reset when you feel like you've stalled on growth for the run. I remember prestiging in Cookie Clicker had an issue of being directly tied to your total cookies produced, so it was nice to have a sign to hit the switch instead of needing to go for Just A Bit Longer.

There are a lot of upgrades tied to prestiging though, so I'm waiting to see how much the game can break so I can get an idea of its length. I can't imagine myself playing it for that long. (famous last words lol)

Other Games I Am Thinking About: SPACE / MECH / PILOT

Very nice gem of an idle game with a sweet story at its core. It is also free! The ship upgrades were more eye-catching effects than anything in Kiwi Clicker so far. The idle game aspects of S/M/P are okay, but I remember a lot of idling to see the ending. (Steam says I "played" for 18 hours) The story is definitely the strength of it, so it makes a nice one-time experience.
