In "news that is huge to me personally," Dais Records has announced a third pressing of 2015's "Remain" by Bay Area dream pop/darkwave band Them Are Us Too. TAUT's debut album was masterful but the band's future was tragically cut short when guitarist Cash Askew was killed in the 2016 Ghost Ship warehouse fire in Oakland. I learned about "Remain" in the wake of that news and found Cash's death -- the death of a talented, young trans woman -- horribly upsetting in ways I didn't totally understand yet.
Anyway, the album is beautiful, and it's no exaggeration to say that it shaped my future. The surviving band member, Kennedy Ashlyn, has continued on her own as SRSQ ("seer-skew") and I had the honor of seeing her when she did a show in town a few years back. I already have "Remain" on CD, and I don't currently own a record player, but I think I'm still going to pick up one of these for my shelf.

While I was taking pictures, I ended up talking with one of my roommates about the album. He mentioned that he also had a collection of vinyls with no way to play them, so now I'm thinking I may look for some equipment sooner rather than later. My heart is racing from obtaining this.
