i'm posting this at midnight because i thought of this gpose while making dinner, so i logged back on to do the shot and whipped something together kinda quick and dirty. happy w/ the vibe on it tho.
hey, bard is like really fun in Abyssos so far?? I've really been enjoying the timing adjustments needed on each fight. Just to draw one example, Proto-Carbuncle has a major mechanic around the 2-min burst window, so people hold their abilities for a brief bit - what that means for Bard is extending Mage's Ballad by up to 15s instead of cutting it short for the usual 2 min rotation. I found 9-10s to be pretty good at keeping my songs still in alignment with everybody's buff windows in that case, but there are probably four or five moments in the first two fights where I needed to figure out timings like that. It's cool.
Aaaaaaaaaaand, the results of the micro-adjustments ended up being really good! I'm over the moon with p5s and p6s parses that are blue on week 3 despite using only-crafted or tome gear (not even the EX weapon!) and no raid drops yet. I don't think I'll be regularly raiding on Luna, but I'm still glad I was prepared and able to help out my old friends tonight. DPSing is a really fun experience lol.
