Rant, trying to get something off my chest.
I hate that a project in any medium to large company always has to "revolutionize" shit. Has to fucking fight for its own existence. It can't be that we have a product and a responsibility to make it work. There always has to be some FUCKING business angle. Oh Alex, can we patent how we write to an EEPROM? can we patent a layered architecture? Can we patent our specific motor control routine? No. No. No. No. We're not doing anything NEW. This is all bogstandard technology that exists.
Oh you want new features in the product? We're rewriting the codebase of the product because you bought a company with shit software practices. There's nothing new because we're putting up with the tech debt you FUCKING BOUGHT. why do we need this? Because you didn't let us UPGRADE THE CHIPSET to keep costs down. Why are our requirements in limbo? YOU HAVEN'T GIVEN US SYSTEMS RESOURCES FOR OVER A YEAR.
And now. All of a fucking sudden you want me to write a PowerPoint explaining why we need this at all? Screw you, I'm tired. I'm so tired. I just want to take a nap. I don't want to go searching for jira and defect resolution metrics. I can't equate the old codebase and the new codebase because, AGAIN, the company you bought did not keep track of most of these metrics.
