when you first boot up a game, and it ushers you through all your preferences on first time setup... please put the volume slider in those preferences. I understand it's kind of a given that it should be at max so there's no reason a player thinks sound is broken, but oy. my ears.

not to mention, if you're going to have a splash screen... ow my ears.

Years of playing jam games have convinced me that every dev put their overall windows volume at 5% and never touches it again. It's the only explanation that makes sense.

But yeah I hate when a game starts right away with a tutorial / intro that prevents you from going into the options to lower the volume. Also when the options only get loaded on the title screen, so every launch it's back to being super loud for the opening sequence.
