Pacific Drive first impressions: It's another loot'nkraft with tactical station wagon elements. I can tell it's going to be very fun upgrading and maintaining the jalopy as my surroundings get increasingly more dangerous. The first mission was cool until I died like a dog at the end, all because I didn't know how to exit THE ZONE. Drive into the pillar of light, they said. What light, I responded, as I continued to drive in the opposite direction. Died badly!

DToid's review of this one baffled me when compared to the overall consensus but then again, a lot of their reviews have been pretty odd the mark imo for a while now.

Opinions and all that.

Glad you're enjoying it, I'm grabbing it myself next week.

Zoey is a very discerning reviewer and I love that. When she gives something a middling score, it often means it's flawed but still worth playing if the concept appeals to you. If she were the one to review FF7 Rebirth that comments section would have a meltdown.

What does it for me in Pacific Drive is all the tactile interactions. The way you have to turn the key and put it in drive, how the car dashboard feels like a cockpit, having to constantly scrounge for resources and obsessively sort through my inventory. I go nuts for that stuff.
