This is just a shotgun of different things that have been floating around in my head for the last couple days. They're not fully formed takes yet.

  1. Societies are always looking for a way to get around having to trust others. We have generally settled on strict hierarchy to do this, but it's really bad at it (just look at stuff cryptocurrency and banking). What hierarchy achieves and promotes is suspicion and lying. The people who want to have power are going to seek to get into positions of power regardless of if they have good intentions. If someone has power over you, they cannot interact with you in good faith. They will always end up using their power to further their own means and desires. This is especially true the more unchecked their power is and why unions are such an important bandaid for today's labor system.

  2. the English language and likely most languages is inherently authoritarian. This one is a bit fuzzy and it's not like I'm saying you're a hypocrite for speaking a language riddled with authoritarianism. But like language is shaped the the history of the culture and the societies that speak it. This can change and is likely changing. I don't know, maybe we should all learn Esperanto or something.

  3. Is the concept of gender is authoritarian? Maybe this is my NB ass talking who feels my gender identity is more of a scar than an identity but I don't understand the point. I don't euphoric or diaphoretic about it. I don't understand how cis folks think about their gender if they consider it at all. So it's feels like a tool of oppression more often than like a legitimate thing. Again my thoughts on this aren't fully formed. I just want folks to be who they want to be without feeling like that have to conform to some arbitrary bs.

What do you all think?
