CW cancer, cancer treatment, medical stuff, etc.
It's been a while since I posted an update about my health stuff. The passed month I've been going in every weekday for radiation treatment. It's pretty easy and painless. You just lay on a table and a multi-armed machine rotates around you for a few minutes, then you go home. The side effects aren't as bad as chemo either. But their still NOT GREAT. I've been getting some pretty severe nausea. They originally had me on an oral chemo but I had to stop it because the nausea was too great. Now I'm on three different nausea meds and have it mostly under control.
The one doctor explained to me how each medication works and it's super fascinating! One tricks the part of the brain that can detect poisons and toxins. (Which sounds like a great plot point in a murder mystery). Another, which is a patch I put behind my ear, works by reducing the amount of fluids the body produces. And I don't remember how the other one works.
I only have one full week of radiation left and then hopefully I'll be fully done with cancer stuff for a while.
