the word "galactic" and the word "lactic" both come from the same Proto-Indo-European word for "milk", but "lactic" comes via Latin and "galactic" via Greek. The Milky Way is so called because it kinda looks like a white streak across the sky and from there (in Greek) we get the word "galaxy" because that's the only galaxy within a reasonable commute of most people

technically correct; you could not fit a universe within north america
there is too much north america in the way, universes are too big, and mineral rights would be a nightmare
