Been fascinated by this week's Twitter smack down of the Corridor Crew ai rotoscope thing from nearly the entire art community. It became so big legendary animator Ralph Bakshi briefly made fun of it. One comment that's stuck with me though is the one featured in the screenshot above about how it can make "more content". The current obsession of Tech bros trying to make infinite content is depressing to me because the content they make lacks the most important thing that all art has which is humanity. It really doesn't matter to them either way because art and content are one in the same to them. I think artists will always have a place in the world no matter how good ai gets but I still think it's something to be cautious about.

If you didn't already know, there is a Twitch stream that features a AI that creates a never-ending episode of Seinfeld. The co-creator of this stream Skylar Hartle seems to imply that this will be the future of content in our new digital age. I do think he's right that this will be the future of "content" but to me this can and will never be the future of art. I think it's downright evil to think something that's artificially created can replace the humanity and craftsmanship that we create ourselves. I don't think we should be scared just yet but we as creatives should be watchful as our landscape changes around us.
