Speaking on the internet is to mold whatever version of English you speak into a pseudo US English so that Americans can remotely understand what you're saying as they're a very very prominent portion of people here. Sometimes I don't care, sometimes it's annoying.
It's particularly annoying when you're like, speaking how you normally would, and then an American would pop in being it "bo al wa er" and "chewsday innit".
also fun is when they don't know the difference between immigrants from your country to the US and the actual country and start going on about some shit you've never heard of in disbelief that you don't know it or have new & exciting slurs for you
"latinx" is already controversial among Latin Americans and Latinos in the States but analogy-porting it to Filipino when Tagalog doesn't even do the suffixal gender markings and "Filipino" is already gender neutral makes no sense, and every time someone back here in "the old country" hears it we see red, it's almost funny if it didnt speak to the weird disconnect between us and immigrants from here to the west, and the feelings of being talked over by them that result-
