Hello how are you?
wtf is with people and business degrees being the worst.
what is in that water?
I seriously think that the temptation to reduce all things in the Universe to quantities and transactions of money is extremely powerful; suddenly all complicated problems are reduced to the most basic operations of arithmetic, and the world must seem so much easier to understand once you think it all boils down to "value" or "wealth". ~Chara
So the same thought process that has many conservative types talk about "facts and logic" and "objectivity".
Granted I must admit that thinking is also very individualistic, very "I am the beholder of truth"; Authoritarian.
yeah, I think it's basically the same: reducing everything to money make it seem "objective", because money is construed as being more real than other things. how do you know someone is good at what they do? if they make money. and it's hellaciously authoritarian because...well, let's put it this way: if you're a rich shithead who wants to be able to make all their problems go away with money, it's immensely helpful to the shithead if he's got force on his side, saying "take his money or else" ~Chara
