Yup here we are, many of us at work dreading and hoping for the next day to come. Dreading Cohost's closure but also hoping for your next day off. Some might come back to give it one last look, others might avoid it from feeling the pain of it going away.

I've been thinking the early days when the wider public came to it, the usual scaremongering of "OMG THIS NEW SITE IS GONNA STEAL YOUR ART AND COPYRIGHT AND AHHASDHAS" and it's just the usual site stuff so they can show off your art without you suing them. It keeps happening, from cohost, to pillowfort, to bluesky, to whatever new site pops up.
That fiasco where some loli porn got banned or something, and then I saw many porn artists become all sad like because "If this site is gonna take this down they might eventually extend to my art!" Or whatever reason they thought so they can just stick to posting on Twitter.

The huge, multiple many instances of racism on this site. And the discourse of it because this place is so white it'd make paper look at skin bleaching. Which thankfully I avoided any harassment but even I felt that sort of energy. Reminds of Mastodon's whole white techie energy. You get one taste of it and it just sticks with you.

All in all I'd say I had a good time here, surprisingly met some cool people, didn't expect to make a friend. Yea just one but AYYY, for someone who's really shy that's pretty good.

I did find some artists who posted here a LOT more than on other sites which was really nice, gonna suck to have to live in a world where I see less of their stuff now. :/

So yea. Seeya Cohost, I didn't expect this to last forever but I'm sad to see you go so soon!

Have fun ya techies with your sites and RSS feeds and the like. I'm not too skilled in that and too tired to bother with that. I'll just stick to the easy social media stuff for now.

Oh fuck preparing my Patron post for tomorrow means it's late as shit.

I kinda wish I could schedule my CoHost post. But I'm debating on posting it at the EXACT moment of midnight or waiting until I wake up....Hmmm.
