Predicting the 1454 Imperial League Season

As part of our build up to the start of the dragon racing season, we're bringing in a series of experts to pick what they think is going to happen this year. Today, it's wise old sage Terrence Angre's turn.

Best Rookie: Nikita Coro

I've followed the discussion among my colleagues about this closely, and the arguments are never short of fascinating. Of course it's hard to pick between two such closely-matched riders and dragons, but for me Niki has a clear, if slim, edge. The spotlight of stepping up to the Imperial League – and doing so to a team that will be under extra scrutiny this year – is demanding, and of this year's rookies it's Niki who is the most dynamic. Lyonne Ertku is steadier, reliable but best in a settled routine, while Phoebe Tenryuu's mercurial brilliance will be hampered by her team's limited means and may not translate well to the IL at all.

Terrence's predictions! He at least remembers that the protagonist of the book exists...
