Official Weigh-in Numbers: Olympia still the record

Sara Hymnia reports from the IL weigh-in.

ICDA released the official results from today's Imperial League weigh-in this evening, providing the first direct comparison between this year's drakes and telling us a lot about the new entrants. The measurements confirm that Lucia Aelschu's Olympia is still the largest drake to have ever raced in the Imperial League, at 658lbs, 46'1" nose-to-tail and 24'3" wing. That's still down 3lbs from his peak of three years ago, but up slightly in length and wing over last year, in line with expectations for a drake of his age.

Most of the attention has focussed on the two new Lautern dragons, mammoth golds from Carthagia, and they have not disappointed. Nikita Coro's Incandesia came in at 649lbs, 45'3" nose-to-tail and 24' wing, making her the longest, broadest new drake to ever enter the league, much larger at age 18 than Olympia was (641lbs, 44'7" and 23'8"). We can certainly expect Incandesia to smash Olympia's size records before the end of the decade.
