You ever watch a movie and think, "well, that could have been a zine." Movies are so big and expensive and fucked up. The scale of them is kind of hard for me to think about. It would be so much easier to make something else. On some level, it's confusing to me when a big movie is bad. You had how much money to make this? And you didn't double check that the story worked? Embarrassing. I get why this happens. I get that movies are hard to make. I get that making good movies isn't the goal of the people actually in charge of deciding the budget. I get that movies are a massive undertaking with a huge number of variables and that despite the millions of dollars most of the artists involved are stretched thin or underpaid or under huge pressure in one way or another. But part of me still expects that people would keep working at it and adjusting until they've made something worth watching, if they're pouring such a massive amount of resources at a story. Or idk. Write a little comic instead.

I mean. I’m not saying it’s easy to make a good comic. Or that making bad art isn’t worthwhile. It’s just like, how much money?? How many months of how many people’s lives???
