LibreWolf is a privacy-focused fork of Firefox, with some nice features added and annoyances removed. I saw a post here (don't remember who, sorry!) of someone switching and decided to check it out. Here are some of the pros:
- Firefox Sync appears to work fine, so synced tabs works great even from vanilla Firefox on my phone
- DuckDuckGo and uBlock Origin both default
- No homepage clutter, sponsored stuff, Pocket, or any other kind of builtin ad
- Just generally more privacy-oriented default settings
And cons:
- ResistFingerprinting (RFP) is neat, but it destroys any site's built-in dark mode. And unfortunately, you can't turn it off on a per-site basis, it is an entire-browser setting. So until i can make exceptions for RFP, it's going completely off (destroying half the point of using LibreWolf in the first place :/ )
- No Android build. Not complaining, because adding an entire new platform is a massive task. Might have to search for something else/similar for Android.
Might get around to using this on all my desktops at some point.
