decided to spend a couple hours recoloring some sprites and now i'm in PMD: EoS! much thanks to SkyTemple and the PMD hacking community <3
think i've got both Riolu and Lucario sprites good to go, but obviously i'm not far enough in the game to test Lucario out. as an aside you should play PMD it's good
