I had the immense, unmatched pleasure of showing @gutterdaughter my favorite zombie movie last night: Tetsuro Takeuchi's Wild Zero, better known as "the zombie movie that stars Japanese garage-rock band Guitar Wolf and also has a DVD with an unhinged drinking game."

This was actually my first time watching Wild Zero without following the drinking game1, but on just about every occasion before this I usually try to follow the rules. I have to switch to water by the 15th minute; this is a movie that loves to shoot fire out of things, and characters love to yell about "rock 'n' roll." I do not think this drinking game is actually feasible at all, but it is a great way to get shitfaced in ten minutes, which was the big draw for me back when I heard about it in college. This makes it sound like a pretty trashy movie. It is. It's great.
However!!! There is secretly a love story involving a transgender woman around the core of this, and the movie has some kinda-nice things to say as a result2! This caught me the-fuck off guard when I first watched it long ago, and it's very easy to say that Wild Zero unironically altered the trajectory of my life. I own three Guitar Wolf albums, I saw them live a few years ago, I own a shirt... I love Guitar Wolf very much. I love Wild Zero very much.

Even if you don't drink, I think turning on the drinking game is worth it just so you can laugh at how many beer mugs show up. The soundtrack is also amped, with probably 60% of the tracks being Guitar Wolf tunes. It's a really great bad movie. I don't know when to stop writing so I'm just going to hit post. Listen to Guitar Wolf. thanks
edit 11/28 07:25 UTC: thank you to @Mentat-Emulator for discovering that it is available in "okay quality" on the Internet Archive!

"so you were sober?" hell no lol

"great endorsement kiwi!" look - it's an imperfect movie. I promise it has a happy ending and that there's no violence on transgender characters, but you might cringe at the subtitles and some of the plot points.
