love how it uses 45w of electricity (that i have to pay for) while it sits idling at the desktop because corporate IT just piles so much shitware onto it

are you sure that display monitors in realtime? I don't think I've seen any that aren't just sniffing for the power delivery negotiation, so they likely show the maximum negotiated, not live power draw
Yes, it's realtime, its usage matches that of the load of the device (which is currently eating its brains out trying to apply a gajillion group policies all at once)
