Deutsche Mark was the case of money being worth less than the paper it was printed on.
Looking at photos of how people treated their DM notes back at the height of hyperinflation of the currency is a good reminder that money's worth is NOT forever. Any currency can reach this level sooner or later.

At the Deutschmark's final fixed exchange rate of 1 € = DM 1.95583 (set on 31 December 1998), that banknote would hypothetically be worth 511,291.89 € (US$552,688.24 as of 25 August 2023).

If only it were worth that much in 1920s Germany.
