Face/Off Review

but like, 2.5 stars in a positive way. some great practical FX in the marquee scene. absolute nutjob performances from the two leads. i think if the mind games between the two after the turning point had been more deliberate and tense, it could have really spiced the whole thing up, but instead things kind of just happened. it also didn’t feel like the film was really celebrating the internal drama and psychological aspects of the premise (as much as Travolta and Cage definitely were acting some of it); just concerned with moving through plot to get to a happy ending. really, i think i wish this movie was a season of good shounen anime – that’d be absolutely sick. also holy shit john travolta is so ugly to me lmao
