I really love claire rousay's lp from earlier this year. It's been a few months and I still find myself putting it on on quiet, sad nights. The magic of this record to me is how despite having the appearance of a poppier turn - emphasis is on guitar and vocals, shorter songs, more traditional structures - this record is just as dissociative and cerebral as rousay's more experimental and ambient pieces. Really, the right headspace to listen to the record is as an ambient work with bedroom pop instrumentation. The whole thing is a true continuation of rousay's self-applied emo ambient label, and that's probably why it's still pretty slept on. I'm really hoping more people check it out and that critics remember it when it's time for year end lists
