Last August started a really stressful period in my life, but you all helped me get through it. You made smart dumb jokes. You made thoughtful, nuanced posts. You gave me so many new ways to think about things. You distracted and entertained and taught me. No where else have I been able to log on and get such a variety and know I'll find something I can relate to.

I enjoyed all the bots, even @coloroftheday, which I heartily disagree with most of the time.

I'll be trying to find you all, where I am able, and I hope you find me, too. Leave a note where you're going if you want to make sure I see it, or shoot me an email (this username at gmail).

You all gave me so much. I am so glad I am mourning this site, missing what we won't have later. I am so glad I am not muttering good riddance as I unbookmark another hellsite. I am so glad we all went out posting, that this website did not die an unobserved and lonely death.

I get up pretty early. If I can, I'll be scrolling through commenting on posts from overnight before I have to face the rest of my day without you. (I suppose likes won't show up in the data dump, but I'll leave some in your last batch of notifications if I can.)

If we haven't found each other elsewhere-- incompatible social media preferences, a wish to simply drop out of this rat race-- know that I will remember you fondly. (Even if you were @coloroftheday.)

I thought nullabor was just another odd tag that didn't make sense, but no-- this is a plain in Australia! Where, get this, there aren't any trees and it's muddy brown.

Also, I don't know why colins apparently is tagged for all these green-ish brown colors, but to whomever/whatever colins is, I salute you. I'm not sure why; I don't really like these colors, but you certainly do, or whatever you are is associated with it. A mystery I will forever leave unsolved.
