My hobbies are all excuses to collect pretty colors. I enjoy knitting, sewing, running, trombone-ing, gardening, & sci-fi short stories. Coding when necessitated and occasionally for fun. Microbiology for fun & (non-)profit.
It's almost entirely fan service (and some delightful Easter eggs for both Pratchett & Gaiman readers), but it's fun. Without the fluff in all the episodes the ending scene wouldn't have hit so hard.
Ok I've rewatched some episodes and have come to some other conclusions:
The writing is actually kind of bad? The tropes are not handled all that well?
Yet I still am upset at the end, even though it feels so haphazardly done, so I don't know. I guess the actors are pulling a lot of the weight, here. (Which is why I liked Wynona Earp-- the writing was terrible but the actors were really good at building their world & making connections with their characters out of what they were given.)
