I've got the sleeves ready to add (save the cuff pleats; I leave those until I need to make them to add the cuffs); the yokes sewn to the fronts and back, and the button bands added.
The collar is next, then the rest should be pretty easy sewing (well, except flat felling inside the sleeves.)
While progress has been generally good (no long seam ripping sessions), I discovered one of my fronts is off vertically by like half an inch. I don't know what happened since I lined up the plaid carefully when cutting, but it's definitely not aligned. I'm hoping I can fix the vertical alignment issue by choosing carefully where my buttons are sewn so that it lines up better. (Better, not perfectly, since I want my collar to align most of all). I left a decent amount of room at the hem because I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a 1/4" or 1/2" double-fold hem, so I think I can even that out at the end.
This is all after sewing the yokes on and discovering one set of gathers had decided to be pleats and trying to fake pleats on the other side, too, without undoing the seams. (It will pass, but won't win prizes.)
I did manage to sew the other sleeve's tower placket nearly identically off-angle, so I'm feeling pretty OK about the wearableness of this shacket, even outside the house!
