I sewed along in the PatternReview forums monthly sew along for this one, which was about clothing closures of all types. I have never been able to get my buttonholes spaced quite evenly, and I used this month's theme to spur me to do the work on why. Root-cause analysis revealed it was due to the marks on my buttonhole foot being difficult to judge in relation to the needle. Once I ignored those and looked at where the needle was actually going to enter the fabric, my spacing became spot-on! I'm planning to get a small dental mirror to help see into the big bulky foot easier.
My pattern pieces literally fell apart while making this, I've made it so many times. I don't think I quite got them back together right, plus I am wearing a different style of bra now.Wacoal, please stop discontinuing things! I've got a few mods to make when I cut out this pattern again. And I will, because I love the collar-less neckline!
Those with keen memories will realize the orange buttons are from my Jalie collared shirt trial; I loved the combo too much to not do it here.
