Here is the back of the big one.
Next is squaring up (which will be fun, as 3 of my sides have 6 chevrons and 1 has only 5), then figuring out which side I want at the top (since the big one will be hung), and binding both.
Close-up is of the cool variegated King Tut thread-- colorway is De Nile.
Quilting was fun, as it was when I made my sewing machine cover, but shoving a 42" (plus) square through my machine's 6" harp wasn't so great. I don't want to blame my tools, as I suspect with enough practice it won't be as bothersome, but those lines would be straighter and the stitch length more even if I had a few more inches to the right of the needle.
It was nice to leave in so many mistakes, though! It's not a show quilt, and as long as I thought I wouldn't notice it on the wall behind the coat rack I left it. If it were a show quilt, this big one would only probably be about half-way done by now. At least I only lost bobbin chicken once!
