I am still not certain of my recently-sprained ankle, and figured climbing into the tub to clean it like usual was not a good option. How to keep myself on the unslippery dry floor, without contorting myself, all while extending my reach into the tub?
Using the broom I bought but couldn't use for quilting1 as a big scrub brush!
It also meant I didn't have to bend over, which my back appreciated.
It's not a scrub-out-the-soap-scum deep cleaning tool-- the bristles give way pretty easily-- but it is certainly Good Enough and much quicker for routine cleaning that I'm going to keep doing it.
- I use the pool noodle table method of quilt basting, which has you unroll & baste small sections of the quilt sandwich. It's easy to sit at a table and baste, no standing or clipping/unclipping of stiff bulldog clips or table clamps. It needs three tubes or 2x4s, but I only had 2 good long tubes. A while ago I picked up a cheap broom from Target because reviews said the head kept coming off and that's what I wanted. Unfortunately, they seem to have fixed that design flaw!
