My hobbies are all excuses to collect pretty colors. I enjoy knitting, sewing, running, trombone-ing, gardening, & sci-fi short stories. Coding when necessitated and occasionally for fun. Microbiology for fun & (non-)profit.
The cheap "Enjoy Myself" bone folder got its edge curve flattened out by using it as a hera marker to press lines in my quilt sandwich (so I could then sew over the impression made).
I don't want to use Actual Bone but I will have to find a step up from whatever plastic this is!
I made a few wooden folders with stirring sticks, following Four Keys Book Arts' tutorial on youtube. They're meant for bookbinding, but sanded smooth enough, I feel they might do the trick on fabric too.
I'll keep that in mind! I've got an idea to use a smooth tracing wheel (the kind to transfer carbon to fabric or paper) next.
