My hobbies are all excuses to collect pretty colors. I enjoy knitting, sewing, running, trombone-ing, gardening, & sci-fi short stories. Coding when necessitated and occasionally for fun. Microbiology for fun & (non-)profit.

daily knowledge: Netscape, the company behind one of the first commercial web browsers, was bought by AOL in 1999. and one thing AOL slapped the Netscape brand on was a dial-up service provider. the ISP had its own web portal homepage, and to this day both services remain running, untouched and frozen in time.

Tons of headlines, smaller font, hardly any need to scroll (because I'm still rocking a 1600x1200 display).

And that page full of rectangles is something I still remember how to make; it is hitting nostalgia for me.

wow didn't know about the ISP. is it just me or is there no obvious way to sign up for service from that page?

and if you click "look for jobs" (does that sound quaint or is it just me?) you just end up on another AOL news page.
