My hobbies are all excuses to collect pretty colors. I enjoy knitting, sewing, running, trombone-ing, gardening, & sci-fi short stories. Coding when necessitated and occasionally for fun. Microbiology for fun & (non-)profit.

I cut out the pieces on the 4th of July this summer, and then promptly stopped sewing after finishing my pajama lounge set of the same fabric! It felt good to complete a project again and the color motivated me to get it done this month.

Fabric: pink and yellow cross-dyed linen, from EmmaOneSock. It changes between orange-y pink and orange-y yellow based on the angle and I love it.

Pattern: Megan Neilsen Wattle Skirt, which has a very fun closure at a pocket (and the pocket is still somewhat functional).

Getting back into sewing (after a break for Zelda) with a small project: a bookmark for a friend! We're doing a bookmark Secret Santa so I'm eager to see what I get.

This is also technically my first finished quilt top, if a bookmark counts.

The small squares are cotton batik scraps (mostly Hoffman Forest Floor batiks), and the orange side is that same yellow/pink linen chambray I made my pajama set with.

I put a buttonhole in so that the tassel/ribbon can be replaced or removed. Sometimes those are just too bulky for the book!

Pattern: Sinclair Lily for the top, pajama pants are my own pattern draft

Fabric: Fine Quality Cross-Dyed Linen (yellow/pink), and the straps are Giza shirting cotton (rose petal), both from EmmaOneSock.

Detail photo has the most accurate colors; couldn't be bothered on the other one (but do enjoy the catalog pose)!

I promise my linens were not wrinkly when I put them on! But it's humid here, and this stuff is wrinkling even if I look at it. Good thing this is a lounge set! No ironing here!

I altered the facing on the neckline to be more of a clean finish-- the last one I made kept bunching up really badly in the wash, meaning I had to iron it flat. I don't want to iron pajamas, so I did extra work up-front to save more work later. So far so good!

Full details, including the extensive alterations needed, are up on PatternReview! The long and short of it is that despite being a "petite"-sized pattern, very little was actually petited except the overall length.

Finished my latest pair of pajama pants today! They are linen with piping made from the same fabric as that last shirt I made. I wanted to test out the color combo and I like it!

I copied my favorite pair of Victoria's Secret flannel pajama pants for it. I dislike long pajama pants, so these hit at my ankle.

The linen is pink & yellow cross-dyed linen from emmaonesock. I love how the color shifts between yellow, orange, and pink! I've got a skirt planned next with it.
