My hobbies are all excuses to collect pretty colors. I enjoy knitting, sewing, running, trombone-ing, gardening, & sci-fi short stories. Coding when necessitated and occasionally for fun. Microbiology for fun & (non-)profit.
Named for one of the best hobbits, able to accomplish great feats, especially if fed often.
Today the discard made pancakes, and later this week we'll bake a celebratory loaf of bread.
Harvested the last of the volunteer dill plants and a good chunk of mint before the freeze tonight/tomorrow. I'll move my beet & carrot buckets in the garage overnight-- it's going to be a hard freeze so nothing is going to be happy. The mint may find a spot indoors for the winter; we'll see how much the cat wants it.
My Early Wonder beets look close to harvest (maybe next week?), and my carrots look like they could use a few more weeks. After the cold this week we'll get back to above-average temperatures and that should give me a little bit more breathing room.
