This is one of my favorite soundcloud composers, John Tay. I think growing up with music from the SNES and Genesis made me gravitate almost entirely towards really emotional music with punchy instruments. I got into emulation when I was a pre-teen, so I would say I grew up with NES music, even though I never owned one myself.
