I inherited a giant 3-ft wide dollhouse from my aunt, after my mother apparently told my family that I, a very grown-ass adult, was into playing with dolls now lol. It's beautiful and came with a lot of gorgeous artisanal furniture. It even is wired with electricity. I have a lot to do, but my first projects are to redo the bedroom and kitchen since my vision for those is the most clear.
I'm going to give the kitchen marbled flooring with deep maroon wallpaper and install two globe ceiling lights. The current ceiling light is kinda too... cottagey? Well, the whole kitchen is too cottagey, with the yellow tiling + wallpaper. I want the house to be moody and luxurious because Rogier is a rich aristocratic bitch. Plus the ceiling lighting is kinda meh. I want brighter lighting.
The bedroom needs a total overhaul. It used to be a sports bedroom for a boy I guess, this shit is supposed to be opulent for a sorcerer. I tore up the carpet that used to be blue. I want to do a beige + yellow/gold with some maroon accents. Floor will be either medium or dark wood. My bedroom furniture is all walnut so it's fairly dark wood that should hopefully look good with the maroon accents. I bought some gold curtain rods and I want to also try to paint some gold filigrees onto the furniture.
There's still many more rooms. The bathroom, the dining room, the living room, and a room that I guess could be an office/study. There are also two extra rooms in the attic, that can be accessed by lifting up part of the roof. One of them is going to be Devin's gaming room and I dunno what the other will be. Maybe Darian's work room. I don't actually know what he'd do in a modern AU, I thought he'd be someone who does dirty work like construction or working in a factory since weeding Deathroot is a dirty job.
I'm excited about Devin's gaming room because it's going to be fucking nasty. Mountain Dew bottles and garbage everywhere. Darian tells him to clean it up but it gets dirty in a day. It'll be fun to decorate. I always liked making nasty rooms in the Sims.
