- eldritches reproduce asexually via spores. these spores are scattered across space and can take years to hatch, as spores require sunlight and heat. most spores released will never hatch at all.
- the spores hatch and the eldritch begins the grub stage. the grub will hang around a star absorbing sunlight and consuming necessary minerals. eventually these alone will stop being enough to sustain the eldritch leading to:
- the flux stages, the trial of an eldritches life. the eldritch returns to the deep recesses of space to find limited amounts of food. an eldritches diet at this point is anything they can get their hands on, and this then affects the form they take. this is also the stage where introspective awareness begins to take place as well as the feelings of emotions. the first emotion an eldritch will feel is likely loneliness. being inside deep space will further ruin an eldritches psyche leading to a breakdown. if they survive the breakdown, and not many do, they either move on to the next stage or the flux cycle repeats another stage. if they do not survive, then by instinct the eldritch will release spores upon death, as they only release spores under severe stress under threat of death.
- the social stage begins when an eldritch reaches a world with social life, typically having a civilisation. the eldritch will typically try to blend into the civilisation by instinct and become a part of it, with varied results. reaching this stage, the eldritch is considered to be a full adult and now has the tools to function in a society. this is considered to be the last stage of an eldritches life cycle until their death, which will be a very very long time under normal circumstances.
