I kinda had an issue at one point during the big Zombie Craze that happened a while ago. (Like, an actual while ago, not just a long time in internet time.)

I tried getting into zombie media a lot, expecting like, y'know. What I grew up on.
Zombies are a weak but unrelenting foe, the risk of them is not the beasts themselves, but the fact that they require 100% constant diligence, and punish the slightest mistake with assured, possibly instant death.
They represent a battle of attrition and a constant drain on resources, mental and material, and the reason they're such a danger to us, is that as humans, we can't BE on alert 24/7 for very long without wearing down, it's a foe geared to our weakness. We can stave it off with help, but nothing will last forever, we crack.

And then every zombie media I guess got a hair up its ass at some point and started going full ham into the eeever so deep "maybe we are the real monsters" and like...NO?! That's not the point?! Like yeah it was an interesting idea at first when it was novel, and a lot of older zombie media had the person who immediately snapped, but like, it dissolved into the entire plot of everything just being "oh the zombies are just background noise while the gang face off against this group of mean psychos" and it's completely boring to me. It's just misanthropic bullshit.

Practically everything that did this could've easily swapped out zombies for a flood or global EMP disaster and it would have been NO different.
