is that in my experience, "because I can" has not worked as a sufficient reason to make a website. I am in favor of trying to learn to make your own website if you have something to do with it. as it stands, I am just here to Post, until such a time as when I can focus on things like writing or game making (which increasingly seems to be a distant future). Because making a website also means hosting and maintaining a website, ideally for more than one person to look at.

"for the love of the craft" is a noble reason, but it doesn't click for me in this specific case, and everyone telling me I need to learn to make my own website is just talking past me to a hypothetical reader that is not me

yeah I feel this. I "maintain" my portfolio website but even then I haven't updated it in a while and it's mostly just to have a place to put my commission info. I can't imagine what kind of Content™️ I could put on a site that a reader would want right now, let alone get over my ADHD enough to actually do it yfm?
