my little references world

@allergott

i know it can be intimidating to start out with reading political theory, especially if all you see are lists with more than two dozen entries. so i've decided to compile a short-ish starter reading list myself! while I've roughly ordered them by recommended reading order, feel free to skip around and see which ones you like best.

section i

Principles of Communism, Friedrich Engels
The Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels
Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

section ii

Orientalism, Edward Wadie Said 1
Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent, Eduardo Galeano
How Europe Underdeveloped Africa, Walter Rodney
Neo-Colonialism, the Last Stage of Imperialism, Kwame Nkrumah
The Wretched of the Earth, Frantz Fanon

  1. while i obviously recommend all of these, i'd personally urge you to start section ii with this one.
