look: it's been what? two months since bridget dropped in strive, and I've been reading a lot of very interesting discourse about transness, identity and representation, which has gotten me to think, and I think I landed on something that is worth sharing, which is that one of the essential factors you must understand when throwing a yoyo, no matter the type of throw, it applies to the front style throw, the breakaway, the forward pass and even the horizontal stuff, is that the yoyo is essentially rolling off of your hand, and as such it is critical to remember that you should put your basic slipknot around the middle knuckle of your middle finger to ensure maximal balance and control, and you need to make sure that the string goes over the yoyo, rather than under, which is how you ensure maximal speed, which gives you the balance necessary to achieve the more complex tricks

this is a selection of panels from issue #4 of Heroes in Crisis (Tom King, Clay Mann, Tomeu Morey) that explicitly lay out a concept that the book will later sum up as "Bros before heroes" (Because it is in part a Blue Beetle and Booster Gold story and they are Like That); every time people talk about this book, they mention the shortform of this idea and not this part, which is explicitly text; and then they make it seem like Heroes in Crisis is fundamentally a book about how it is okay for people to be selfish, and I start cussing; ANYWAY, a lot of people have been chosting about stuff they enjoy in cool and thoughtful ways and I think it's a good place for it! so here we are!
