people being like "it's hard to sift through stuff on itch" is like. idk. skill issue. follow the devs you like. see what they rate. this is what collections are for!!
for the record, I keep a collection of the games I like a lot: https://itch.io/c/3612288/favorites
I'm still in the middle of writing my recommendations for games from last year (and other years that I only got to recently) but, if you want to know what I've been enjoying, I update this frequently.
I encourage you to rate and keep collections of games you like as well!
There's so many wonderful games out there waiting to be discovered, but they need your help, so talk about the games you like that you find!
these images have been stuck in my head for far too long and i keep thinking about a potential future where shit just. is like this. i like these cool designs. they're rugged, somewhat silly but also feel like some kind of cool future shit, y'know? we never got anything like the deus ex multi-tool or the weird key thing, instead we got iphone 14 (is that what theyre on now? all phones are the same to me at this point. unhealthy breeding practices)
maybe it's some weird nostalgia for 00s era futuristic technology, maybe it's something else, but i really feel like we missed out on a potential future where everything is slightly less shitty.
hell, when nokia made a comeback, i feel like they kind of missed the mark. their phones are really shitty plasticky messes that aren't durable (the thing most people remember nokia for) and run on their own shitty os that feels like someone took the "closed-off" design of ios and made it themselves. the controls aren't even that good. they feel mushy and disappointing when compared to something like the 1100.
i feel like this has something to do with capitalism and the constant growth thing but i don't think i know enough about it to make a point.
(yes i know you can build a cyberdeck but 1: i dont have access to a 3d printer 2: i do not trust myself with electronics)
