finished reading "The New Queer Conscience" by Adam Eli. overall, short, sweet, to the point primer on what queer leftism looks like from a jewish individual- ie, "hey maybe stop infighting, focus on helping all of us, and remember you're not the protagonist" vibes.

personally, I was already familiar with... genuinely all of the discussions involved, so I can't say what it looks like for folks less familiar with them, but it was generally well written. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by the author, and the <1 hour book was pretty good, but admittedly a little boring when I could mostly nod and say "yep" rather than feel engaged in new thoughts and discussions.

As more and more of online shopping gets taken over by accelerationist fast fashion like Shein and Temu and FashionNova, I've been trying to find more new places to buy clothes. But it's hard! They don't have the SEO! So I've mainly been getting turned on to stuff through social media.

So I'm making a post with some small fashion brands I've bought things from recently, and I'd love to hear about ones you know about or more resources:

Carmico - Found this designer through Twitter and I ADORE her designs, and I hope her business continues to grow. Periodic collections of related items that generally form almost an entire outfit. I have bought a lot of items from this site...

Meyoco Apparels -- Meyoco has been doing more and more clothing items over time, and I have loved their style since before the push for clothing. I got the fallen testament cardigan, and they also have shirts, hats, aprons, and other accessories like mouse pads.

MaoBabie -- Mostly cute plushes, also bags and hats. I got a puppy dog hat and a purse shaped like a mushroom from them.

BibiPins -- I got some compression gloves from this site and I like that they have so many cute and gay patterns. Every time I check there are more compression items including binders, as well as clothing, pins, and accessories.

Something I notice about all of these is that they are all very cute, and I'd love to hear some suggestions for more edgy clothing as well. I'm really looking for small businesses and not just lesser known big brands.
