hot(?) take: the emo holy trinity should’ve been fall out boy, my chemical romance, and paramore. panic! was more emo by association and, to me, always felt rather different than the '00s emo sound at large, especially following their first album. they just never had the staying power and relevance that paramore had, i feel, and paramore's stuff always felt more impactful and paramore stood out more for having a frontwoman.

panic! was a sensation. paramore was (is) a band. idk
