I hope Tim Sweeney falls down a flight of stairs every day for the rest of his life.

Fuck Tim Sweeney and Epic for betting on the "metaverse" bullshit, buying Bandcamp for fuckall reasons and dumping them after their stupid bet didn't work.

Also now I fully believe them selling Bandcamp was disguised union-busting.

i have no patience or love left for CEOs with infinite money who insist on making bad gambles and having every employee but themselves suffer as a consequence. you've expended all energy in me to treat you like a human being.

Genuinely impressive it got this bad this fast
But I wonder how they don't have enough money to keep these people, surely all the literally millions making higher ups would be able to scrounge up something πŸ€”
(Obviously they are just blood sucking monsters who don't want to face even an iota of the consequences for their """""genius""""" ideas)

my understanding of the situation is that it is slightly more insidious:

they sold bandcamp the company, bandcamp the brand, bandcamp the website and all of its operations - but the employees were not part of the deal. technically, all employees were laid off, and some portion of them are receiving offers to be re-hired.

which, depending on how you read it, could be taken to mean that, since there are no bandcamp employees, there is no bandcamp union, and that whole effort would have to start over anew with whatever employees do get hired or re-hired.
