the Russians and the Chinese have literally nothing to do with my dissatisfaction and distrust in the American political system. i recognize there are disinformation campaigns (foreign and domestic, weird how the foreign ones get talked about way more) but like... for example, Joe Biden is sending Israel weapons every 36 hours. that's not a Russian psyop, that is an American fact. i don't want to support genocide and neither party cares about that. i'm going to vote in my local elections but i would feel disgusting voting for anyone for president. i'm not a rube for sticking to my principles

and i'm not mired in hopelessness and despair or anything just because i don't want to Vote Blue No Matter Who! there is so much hope for change outside of the ballot box. don't ever think we can't make the world a better place—just don't pin all your hopes on politicians

in reply to @nicky's post:

Neo-liberalism is a movement that pushes to make politics completely devoid of material consequences in the eyes of citizens. You vote because you are told its good not because you want things to change because politics don't actually effect your life. Its political poison

A friend heard about our intention not to vote because of Biden’s role in the genocide, and gave us a snide “What, do you think the other candidate won’t do the same thing?” And we had to calmly explain that we didn’t give a shit what the other candidate might do. A moral line had been crossed, and we were following our principles by abstaining. Wild how angry folks get when you have a perfectly valid, sincere reason for your political actions!
